My NEW home office.... finally complete !!

My home OFFICE renovation is now complete & I am so ECSTATIC with the results! It feels bright & calming...two things I was aiming for throughout the whole process.  I really hope my new home office will inspire you to perhaps re-decorate your own!  For those of you who are NEW to my blog, you can see the before pics here as well as the renovation in progress here.

Renovation in exchange for lower rent ?

That's right! I thought this was a pretty fantastic read on the NY Times website. (One of my favorites)! Talk about a renovation decision (in a rental) that is worth your while!  

With the economy being so shaky these days, Todd & Marlene Capron decided to renovate a run-down apartment in Prospect heights, Brooklyn all by themselves in exchange for a rent reduction for their landlord. Now that is a deal! Here are pics of the reno, but you can read all about this genius idea here!

I love how they brightened the walls behind the mantle! So, what do you think of renovation in exchange for rent reduction? 

my home renovations

Well, here i am trying to catch up, losing quite a few files on my old pc and water damage in my kitchen being repaired. But like all things in life, you have to bounce back and get things going once again. Here are a few pics of some of the renovations done to my current house. A couple of before and after shots of my kitchen & fireplace. Still a few minor fixes need to be done, what a long process this has been , just glad most of it is over. As you can see, there is a drawer still missing, that entire cabinet will be replaced with a wine fridge. Cant wait! Have a great weekend!!
