Sharing a Penthouse with a Sibling.... (D Magazine)

DMagazine had an interesting article of two siblings sharing a penthouse space. Well, it's a 12,000 sq. ft space, so not really all that bad huh?? Well, you see... both Kari & brother Kirby Schlegel wanted the corner penthouse unit at the 'W', so their father stepped in & decided instead of buying them 2 INDIVIDUAL units, he figured why not create 2 separate apartments from it !?!

They searched out architects and designers Lionel Morrison & Jan Showers to handle the project. LUCKY kids aren't they? I do hope they're grateful. Kari was looking more for a Domino flair in her space while her brother Kirby wanted a darker, more masculine look to his apartment. Another cool feature is a common area they have for entertaining...Nice!

101 HOTEL.....Getaway in Iceland

Every time the weekend gets close..... I think of how great it would be to just get away & visit a new city! How about Iceland?? Ever been there?? Well, my husband sent me this amazing boutique hotel he came across called 101 Hotel. What a beautiful place this would be to stay & unwind....

I'd LOVE to hear of anyone out there is familiar with this hotel & if you've ever stayed there. In the meanwhile, let's DREAM together.....

ZGallerie Goodies....!!

Have you seen all the new stuff at ZGallerie?? I am loving this store more than ever. The first sofa my husband & I ever bought was a BIG chunky brown leather sofa from ZGallerie and although that sofa is looooong gone and no longer my style, I recall we bought it for $1300! That was a about 5 years ago!! 


Anyhow, MOST of the sofas on their site now are less than $1000, now that is good news! They also have a large selection of chic home accessories and I had to pick out my FAVES here. Check out the ZGallerie for more!

Inspiration to Create...

I swear, sometimes I come across photos of homes that put me in a design daze (I mean that in a GOOD WAY, of course) where all I can think of is how I can apply something just as beautiful to my own home. Ever felt that way?? I L-O-V-E that feeling!  Perhaps it's just plain INSPIRATION, but it gives me motivation & desire to want to create! This is what I'm talking about below.

NY Social Diary Interviews Sixx Design...

I know I've blogged about Sixx Design's husband & wife team before... but I wanted to direct you to this recent interview they did for New York Social Diary.  In the interview they highlight the art & furniture pieces throughout their home and even talk about how much they paid for their current townhouse in NY.  I can definitely see Cortney & Robert heading straight to the top & being a household name very soon!
