Every now & then I receive emails from readers wanting to share how they displayed our MadeByGirl prints in their homes. It puts a HUGE smile on my face to see my work in places like Japan, Australia, Canada, UK, Brazil & more! Jennifer's Closet & new site coming soon!

We've been busy re-deigning my MadebyGirl shop & will soon be introducing other artwork by other artists .....so you'll soon be able to shop more variety. I'll also be adding a new section called "Jennifer's Closet" - where I'll sell items from my own closet & home. Below are some examples below, (rarely ever worn). I hate to get rid of great items, & would rather see if any of you out there wants to purchase them for a much cheaper price then I paid. With that said, have a great weekend & be safe everyone!

Am I a Twitter-holic yet?

So, I finally started updating my Twitter- after joining months ago. I didn't really know how to use it & then all of a sudden.... I get an app. for my iPhone & I'm updating before I go to bed, when I get up in the morning & at a red light in my car!! Ha!

New at MadeByGirl in Turquoise...

I was so inspired by the TURQUOISE post here, that I made some new Butterfly Fabric Prints with hints of turquoise. I make them as I go, so grab them while they're still available! The vintage-looking frame I used in the photos, is from Michael's craft store. There are more new colors in my shop too. Check them out here.

My office chair arrived !!!

It does have chrome armrests, but I decided to leave them off for now. That's the cool thing about this chair, you have that option. Also, it took about 13 days to arrive.... after I ordered it. They kept me informed via email the whole time, which was great! In the pic it looks kind of low, but I was shooting the pic while standing on my old chair! I bought it here. Suggest a fabric/site and a GIVEAWAY!

I was lucky enough to find this super cute French Provincial style sofa for $125 on Craigslist a couple days ago. Its an old piece, but in great shape! Although it was re-upholstered about 6 years ago, I cannot deal with the dated fabric + it has some cat hair on it, which I'm VERY allergic to!

My mission is to find a fabric that isn't going to run me a million bucks & still look GREAT!

I'd like to take my time so I can find the best deal on a fabric & still have it suite my space. Yesterday, I surfed the web & came up with these top 10 fabrics below. I would be happy with either of these I'm sure, but am still undecided. The colors in my family room are mostly reds, pinks & blues. All these fabrics are from either J Caroline Creative OR Contemporary Cloth.
Its not set in stone yet so that is where you all come in.

I'd LOVE to get some suggestions in selecting fabric for this sofa, please, please, please leave your comments on deals you know about, fabrics you think would look better, (also consider coloring the wooden frame), or maybe an interior designer who can hook me up with a wholesale price. (Ok shhh, email me on that. ha!)

For little girls....

I may be pretty busy on Friday and throughout the weekend. So, I'd like to leave you with a variation of the ABC Kids Poster available for both boys & girls. They can be customized with any name and color scheme. This particular color design is one of my favorite combinations with the green letters spelling JENNIFER! Via my shop. 

OH AND FOR THE LITTLE BOYS TOO! My boxer, Darla wouldn't stop trying to sneak around (as you can see) the little colored zebra prop I use. She wants it for herself, but I feel bad because I can't give it to her....its not dog proof! : (

I dare you to.....

Oh so new, from my shop. Grab one to send him/her or grab the 4 pack. These are fun if you just want to send a message across to your love interest (or potential love interest). My corner work area....

This is the laptop area of my desk and where I've placed my inspiration board. The other side of the office/studio (not pictured here) isn't quite finished, so I don't have pics of it yet. The thing is, I need to add more shelving and I'm in a desperate search for that as we speak. The GOAL is to make everything look as neat as possible on the other side of my work area. So...this is all I'm showing for now until its finished. Like in this post, I'm looking for similar storage shelving... anything cute for storing files etc. Any suggestions on what stores to go to?? Thanks!

Sending out pretty little cards into the world.....

Here's a very small portion of what I was doing this weekend. Getting orders ready to ship out to the newest stores we picked up at the show! Yay! We will eventually list them onto the MadeByGirl shop site soon!

NYC Bound....

Ok, I'm finally heading off to the airport to NYC for the National Stationery show! This will be my first show ever, so wish me luck, I'm so nervous! For those of you who'll be there, if you see me, please say hello. I may look stuck up, but I'm not!  haha   So, I apologize if there is a lack of posts until the 23rd....I will try to post something from my laptop in NY.  I'll leave ya with one of the newest cards at MadeByGirl. Just got these in the mail!

Thanks to Belinda (writer of Real Living AU) for sending these mags all the way from Australia! She also surprised me with some nice news today, informing me that MadeByGirl has appeared in the newest issue as well! Yay! Thank you! ALSO, a quick thanks to my friend Sarah in AU, who was also kind enough to mail me a copy of the issue that my ABC Love print appeared in!

Neeeeews & other stuff

Took a small break today to get some coffee in my neighborhood. Well, not much of a break as you can see I still dragged my laptop to join me! (This pic is from my handy camera phone ) It was such a beautiful day today... (not a cloud in the sky) and about 80 degrees.  Also, I wanted to say thank you to all those who have commented on my first 'ever' GIVEAWAY on my blog. The winner will receive a LOVE CANDY print in the color of their choice. I've been meaning to do this giveaway for awhile now & finally did it. I can't wait to randomly choose the winner and announce them on Friday, Yay!....hmm I thought of extending the time to Monday to choose someone, but we'll see. I've been contacted by the editors over at LATINA' magazine & they want to shoot me for an upcoming feature called 'Cool Job of the month'- for the month of August. Right around my birthday! Being in this publication will be such a rewarding experience for me as a Spanish woman entrepreneur and I am looking forward to it very much! My mom has been all smiles since I told her the news. What I've been reading lately....

Besides my school books, here are some great reads that are full of inspiration! First, BROOKLYN Modern is all about architecture, interiors & design throughout the Brooklyn area. I spent most of my 20's living in NYC and visited friends in Brooklyn often and while walking down the streets I would notice so many brownstones being restored. This place has become its own little world, full of cafes, art galleries, great restaurants, funky furniture shops & so much more! No wonder so many young families are being drawn toward Brooklyn in hopes of renovating their own brownstone and investing in this newly developed market. Also I've been reading from Paumes - "Stockholm Apartments" - this book contains about 125 pages & is full of colorful interiors. I highly recommend it to design students! I'll show you more photos from that book soon! Last but not least, the newest issue of Domino Magazine!
