Katy Perry on Snoop Dogg

Pop singer Katy Perry calls American hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg a smoke monster because of his dope habits.

'The first time I met Snoop, I was a bit like lost. The door opens and in comes the smoke monster,' said Perry, reports nypost.com.

The two have teamed up for new song 'California Gurls'.

Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (born October 25, 1984), better known by her stage name Katy Perry, is an American pop musician. Born in Santa Barbara, California, and raised by Christian pastor parents; Perry grew up listening to only gospel music and sang in her local church as a child. The spinning wheel atop the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart came to a halt for the first time in almost two months on Thursday, as Katy Perry's "Firework" logged a second consecutive week at No. 1.

The last song to spend successive frames at the top of the Hot 100 was "Like a G6," by Far*East Movement in late-October. Since then, five tunes have enjoyed weeklong stints at No. 1 with "Like a G6" making a return engagement for a third round.

One of those former No. 1s, "What's My Name?" by Rihanna featuring Drake, was also angling for a second shot at glory by rising one place to No. 2 on the heels of strong radio airplay. The R&B starlet held at No. 6 with "Only Girl (In the World)."

Bruno Mars jumped two places to No. 3 with "Grenade." His former No. 1, "Just the Way You Are," held at No. 7. Pink's "Raise Your Glass" dropped two to No. 4, while Ke$ha's "We R Who We R" rebounded three to No. 5.

"The Time (Dirty Bit)" by The Black Eyed Peas slid four places to No. 8, Nelly's "Just a Dream" remained steady at No. 9, and "Bottoms Up" by Trey Songz featuring Nicki Minaj held at No. 10.

Jailed rapper T.I. claimed the top debut as "That's All She Wrote" came in at No. 18. The tune comes from his new album "No Mercy," which debuted at a disappointing No. 4 on the Billboard 200 on Wednesday.

Say what you want about Katy Perry but she sure knows how to make people talk about her. Hitting the stage at the Y100 Jingle Ball 2010 at BankAtlantic Center, Katy dresses up like some sort of sexy Mrs. Claus, but I can’t help but think someone in the wardrobe department got fired for forgetting to finish Katy’s skirt. At least Katy was wearing festive panties to go with the outfit. Would’ve been pretty embarrassing if she decided to wear her Grannie panties. Just kidding, of course. I sincerely doubt Katy owns Grannie panties. In all honesty, I’m not really feeling the whole half skirt look. I guess she wasn’t showing off her upstairs enough so she had to put the downstairs on display. That’s just the way she rolls, after all. She still looks hot, but I think she would’ve looked hotter if she decided to cover her panties.
