De Taali - Movie Review

tarring: Aftab Shivdesani, Ayesh Takia, Ritesh Deshmukh,
Rimi Sen Director: Eshwar Niwas
What To Watch: Ritesh’s exellence in comedy
What Will Bore You Away: Aftab and the various moments which are dumped unnecessarily The movie, I must insist isn’t a comedy throughout.

It’s more about emotions in friendship and love and is surely an effort to make another ‘Dil Chahta Hai’. The movie might be a better choice to watch when compared to the other disastrous releases of the week.
This movie starts with a sober sounding song which soon takes the form of a remixed version. Soon after we get to see the how three friends, Abhi(Aftab Shivdesani), Amu(Ayesha Takia) and Paglu(Ritesh Deshmukh) live together as if they are inseparable. Though Amu is a girl, the two beshtesht friends of hers, Paglu and Abhi are clueless about this fact….. Before anyone jumps to any kind of a conclusion, I must clear that the summary of the sentence was that Amu is a total tom boy. Abhi is a rich hot shot, who falls in love with every dumb and weird girl where as Paglu and Amu are a lot more sensible.
The most sensible of the three, though is Paglu, who discovers how his friend Abhi’s life would be better if he married in the group (which obviously means that I was refering to Amu). He soon is successful in making Amu realise that her feelings for Abhi have crossed the line of friendship and have entered the territory of love. But then, everything can’t happen according to the mastermind’s wishes, Abhi meanwhile falls for a little more sensible than his earlier loves, Kartika(Rimi Sen). And then starts the “Make-Abhi-Realise-His-Love-For-Amu” movement.]

Ritesh Deshmukh has won hearts with his specialization in comedy, even Ayesha has done well post Sunday. But Aftab fails to woo the audience to a larger extent. The role of Anupam Kher is pathetic but could have been put to a better use.
