And from now on, EVERYONE can leave comments. At least, we'll give that a test and see how it goes.
I highly doubt I will read the comments myself, so feel free to troll, as I know many low-lives will. From today onwards, I shall be oblivious to the blogging world. Taking a leaf out of Rockson's books. =)
I've had fun these few days, attending birthday parties of my two close friends, and given much thought to this whole blogging business.
I've also read over 200 emails from my readers, and there were some really nice ones. Thanks ya all, really made my day sometimes.=)
Well, here's my new strategy:
What people write about me affects me, and I cannot stop people from talking, but I can stop myself from listening.
That is not to say I won't listen to advice, but advice should only be accepted when it comes from a worthy person. How worthy a person is of being listened to is difficult to gauge in the internet world, so I think, thanks but no thanks - I will survive on my own, and on my friend's opinions. I get so many suggestions everyday, that if I listened to them all I'd have been this scary ever-changing person without a stand in anything.
I will not let these detractors stop me from doing that I love, and I will try not to get myself so involved in the blogging world so much. The blogosphere sucks - everyone is taking advantage of anonymity to do totally irresponsible things.
I will go back to blogging about my life like when I first started blogging, when my readers read about Wendy Cheng And Her Crazy Thoughts, not Xiaxue the Defensive Blogger. Whatever you say, go ahead, because Xiaxue will not be affected (I shall shut off automatically when I see hatemail) - and the show goes on.
No more blogging about blogging. I shall no longer defend my actions - and it is not my problem when people misinterpret what I am writing about. Why do I have to spend so much time explaining myself? Stupid people get things wrong ALL THE TIME, and it bores the smart to read explanations. I don't get paid to slowly explain things to them idiots, especially when they are so determined to see it their way. Meanwhile, the smart readers will know I am entitled to my opinions even if they don't agree with me, and these are the people that matters, no?
If anyone thinks I am lying about being hacked, being molested, or being on hiatus for attention, or any other ridiculous thing, go ahead, because my conscience is clear.
Take note, that there will always be people who will be imitating me, or using "xiaxue" to leave comments elsewhere. (Do that, and you get your ip banned!) When that happens, keep in mind that IT IS NOT ME. Because from today onwards I will not leave comments on other people's blogs unless it is using my authenticated blogger account.
Neither will I ever leave a comment on my haloscan comments box. If you want a response from me, I guess you have to take the trouble to send an email, though I still might not reply if I am busy! =)
Pictures from both Weili and Ghimz's birthday parties tomorrow! The pictures are so freaking many, but since I am so beautiful, it is definitely worth it for the half decade it will take to load!
Meanwhile, in case it hits you, yes Weili's birthday is on Sept 11! Wahahha
He is ultra sian when people give him the shocked look when he says his birthday, because he says he cannot help it that the Twin Towers incident happened on his 17th birthday. He was totally sian diao when he saw the news, coz he knew in the years to come whenever he says his bdae people will be all like,
"Your birthday is Sept 11?!?! THEN HOW?"
Weili, when reenacting this scene, then exploded into a chain of explextives and roared, "WHAT YOU MEAN THEN HOW, THEN LIKE THAT LAR, YOU THINK I WANT IT AH?! ROAAAAAR!"
Zhen ke lian! *pat Weili's head*

Oh, how very despicable.
I am truthfully surprised at how low some people can go. What has become of mankind - are we all innately kind like what Confucius said? I find that hard to believe.
Just a girl, blogging her views, just like so many other people. She has never slapped your mother nor set fire to your home, has she? Why the vicious attacks?
I know, my readers are telling me to be strong, to ignore, to hold my head up high.
I've been doing that for many, many long months now. And I am tired. I seriously think I am going crazy. Try having people insulting you every single day, and tell me how long you can last?
Did I already mention I hear voices whenever I write? Don't blame me for that; I used to be a very happy person.
Maybe baring my heart to the world was wrong. I thought we lived in a civilised world, where people were dignified enough to fight to my face, instead of going under the belt.
I can take shit, no problem. Go ahead, throw your insults at me. Moronic? Ugly? Inbred perhaps? Is that the best you can do?
But the attacks on my friends... The snide remarks, like these people even know me well enough to comment... the vandalism and ruining of my pictures... my brother, a 12 year old boy, being told to his face by secondary school students that his sister is a slut, while all he did was to be next-of-kin to me... people trying to spread untruths to my friends to make them angry with me... I can't even look at a person nowadays and not think that person dislikes me.
Is it fair? Why go so low? Why do you people even hate me so much?
I am sick of all these. If you people want to attack, attack me next time. Don't go so low as to attack the kind people who has warranted to be on my blog. Can't I even have friends nowadays without you people trying to get them to dislike me like you do? What is it to you that they like me?
And stop demanding for me to stop whining about these emotions I am having. It is ridiculous to ask me to ignore them when that's all I'm feeling nowadays.
Sometimes I wonder, why am I taking this shit? I think I will be much happier without blogging - except, of course, I won't have an income. Ha.
For all these, I am going to take a hiatus from blogging.
Don't email me asking me to be strong. I am strong; stronger than most people can ever imagine because they have never been in my shoes. It is just that Mr Incredible can get tired too.
Thank you, and sorry, my readers. I know many of you people love me, but please understand how I feel.
Now, I am going to go out with my friends, go gorge on food, go crazy shopping, get hugged, and basically, find my happiness back again.
How long? I don't know. Maybe if something important crops up, I will be back again. Meanwhile, any writing urges will go to the private site. =)
Till then, find someone else you like reading, and stop reading my blog if it antagonizes you. Because you being antagonized antagonizes me too.
Love,
Wendy

Because.
Because there is a first to everything, I shall hereby attempt to post an entry with only an absurd amount of photos taken in two KTV sessions and a Writer's Festival, without any words whatsoever except this small and insignificant chunk.

Actually I am just freaking lazy. WHAT? You think editing, cropping, resizing, and making the colours perfect on those photos don't need effort meh?
p/s: Thanks to all my blogders who were being so supportive. I'm ok now! I have a very ridiculously short anger span! I get upset very frequently for short bursts, then I cool off real fast. =)
Ok yeah, I cannot not say this, so the last guy is Cory Doctorow, founder of the top blog, boingboing.net. He is really ridiculously smart and knowledgable, except I can't give any examples because half the time he was talking about tech/political stuff I didn't fully comprehend, but I know enough to know he is quite the genius. The way he understands whatever you say so fast, then turns it around and ask questions; the way he sees things in a totally different light that makes people go like, "Yeah, so true! And why didn't I think of that?!" is really quite a sight to behold.
Miyagi said a conversation with him squeezed all his brain juices out. I quite agree, except I chose to hide behind my facade of dyed hair and unnatural lashes while pretending to not understand and therefore was spared the embarrassment of giving my unsubstantial opinions. Sometimes, it is good to be female. Don't know politics? Never mind that, I can cook.

I wonder where all my readers are gone to, sometimes.
I just finished reading my comments on the previous KL post, and here's a 180 degrees change in emotions.
I feel very saddened.
Where are all my readers? I know they exist, my coherent, smart readers who have a sense of humour and logic, because they email me, and because once in a while they surface, leaving a witty comment. They even say hi to me when they see me on the streets.
Maybe they are just sick of going against irate Xiaxue-haters who are just so bent on hating me anyway, so it is just a waste of time to argue with them? Maybe they do not feel involved enough to participate in an obviously childish fight.
I don't know what the reasons may be.
Mrbrown said to me the other day, that he never responds to hate-comments on his blog, because it is so much more effective when his readers defend him.
I used to have that kinda luck, but I don't know why I don't see it around anymore, nowadays. Well, even Shuyin tells me she is tired of defending me against these crazy people who see no sense anyway.
I still don't find I wrote anything wrong in my KL post. All I did was to blog out my true experiences in KL. Can't I not like a city without turning the whole city against me?
In here (UPDATE: Link taken out because fuckers do not deserve traffic, though I must say my blogders fought a brave war. Thanks, we win them hands down. =D), I am being labelled a whore (Get that. A prostitute, because I didn't like his city), just because I, perhaps, wasn't prepared enough for KL. I already said I should have dressed as a cow in black drapes. Damn. I am not even gonna start on the defensive because it is so logical. Have I been cheated in other countries (or even other parts of Malaysia that I love! Like JB! Ipoh! Malacca!) for looking like a tourist? NO. Says a lot doesn't it? =)
In the same breath, he shoots back and assumes Singaporeans are "weird" because of our breeding; we are a small (only 4 mil people after all) country and therefore everyone is incestuous, because well, a pool of 4 mil people is definitely not a lot to choose from. Who should I have sex with now? I think I shall shag my nephew who is also my grandfather, because my school only has a few thousand boys for me to pick.
He also presumes our food are "boring" and "mediocre". Oh dear me! I thought Singapore was a food hub! Maybe someone burnt down our fusion restaurants, Newton food centre, and Maxwell Market last night, while simultaneously, Sweden declared war on Singapore and successfully invaded Geylang, renamed it Lingonberry, and banned our dou jiang you tiaos to be replaced with meatballs (which are boring)! How terrible. But hey - because wearing a short skirt makes me look like a tourist and being caucasian doesn't, only he is allowed to rant.
I read the comments, and there - all comments going against me. Is there anyone with common sense that is about to defend Singapore, and knock some sense into this person perhaps? Fact-check! Whatever I experienced in KL is still true! Fact-Check 2! I am not a dumb tourist and I had a friend there with me who often visits KL. Fact Check 3! I haggled in Petaling (to the extent of walking away, yes), and B-grade goods are still way more expensive than Shen Zhen's AAA grades.
How very clever. Why not label everyone who has a bad experience at KL to be a dumb tourist? Don't like KL? You must be a stupid tourist. Or a stupid bimbotic DOG. (What's with Malaysians and being condescending and personal?)
Maybe I should use that method too, and label everyone who doesn't like my blog to be smelly. And because they are smelly, they get irritated by the air they breathe in, and make themselves even more irritated, and thus they transfer the hate to my site. The more they hate me, the more smelly smells they emit, and yadda yadda. That is a very logical vicious cycle indeed.
Anyway, back to my topic.
Where are my readers? I don't wish you guys to instigate blog wars, or flame anyone who dislikes me blindly. I don't want you guys to use personal attacks on people. Not that sort.
But I thought, the least my blogders can do for me is to defend me when I get wrongly accused, or when people get overtly vicious with their words. It hurts me to see that even stuff like the above get written about me, you readers seem to be doing nothing at all. If you understood what I meant to be in a different light from what these people understood, then do help me explain myself to them.
In the past, people defended me so much that I was accused of having a "horde of Xiaxue fans", but now, I have no idea what happened. Maybe they are all from KL or something, and got offended?
Sigh. Alright. I know that it is my own fault because I did tell my readers to stop being over-zealous when it comes to defending.
What to do, I am "ignorant buffoon" and ignorant buffoons are often very contradicting in their ways. I still don't know what I want. Everything I say, people twist it the other way. I might as well talk nonsense.
If I say I hate myself, I wonder if Momo, after she reads my blog, will come and slap me because she loves me and I am not allowed to hate myself, whom she loves. I'm tired, it's 7am now...

My favourite blogs
People who are interviewing me recently seem to find it amusing, or perhaps a little ironic, to ask me about what my favourite blog is.
"So Xiaxue," they all go, with a mischievous glint in their eyes. "We all know you are a big blogger, but which is your favourite blog?"
A gazillion thoughts flash through my minute brain, and I can hardly breathe, for a minute brain does not usually have a gazillion thoughts inside.
A TRICK QUESTION INDEED! I know they know I love my own blog the most, and I think I am like the most fabulous blogger in the whole wide world, winning other people by leaps and... Hey! I shall digress and write fan mail to myself again! Been such a long time since I did that. =)
(Let's pretend that chunk has never happened.)
As I was saying, these interviewers. They all want to trick me into saying I am my favourite blogger, so that when they quote me, they turn it around into: "Xiaxue says she is her favourite blogger and nobody can compare" and thus making me sound really full of myself, which I am, but it is generally not good to show that to the public.
Seriously speaking now... I read like a grand total of like 10 blogs a day. Rarely do blogs keep me interested for long.
Those that do usually have lots of pictures, are updated everyday, and have simple, clean-cut writing. Helps if it makes me laugh!
I don't like reading heavy stuff when I have to juggle checking emails, blogging, and IM-ing. It is so much easier being dumb than being intellectual, unfortunately. Whenever I feel I need a dose of smart, I go read a classic or something, but it is never done online, for there are only too many distractions.
I CAN SMELL YOU ROLLING YOUR EYES! Fine, fine, whatever. These ARE excuses. Teehee. I totally dig superficial, gossipy sites!
Behold, my favourite blogs:
Junk Feud
Socialite Life
The Superficial
Pink is the New Blog
ALL HOLLYWOOD GOSSIP RAGS IN VARYING DEGREES OF EVILNESS! I love it love it love it!
(I think some of you might have no idea what I am talking about from now on, so you people have to get familiar with the tabloids scene first. Go read! Takes like 2 hours to know almost everyone)
I know where Lindsey Lohan goes everyday, I have seen 3 different sets of photos of Fergie wetting herself on stage, and even Paris Hilton's pussy and Jude Law's penis! GASP!
A socialite's life, I think we all already know. Updated almost daily, decent pictures, though maybe not as juicy. Needs to be a bit more evil!
Trent, a gay Detroit dude and writer of Pink is the New Blog, is religious about his postings too, and I love the way he describes things. Quite funny!
I liked him a lot previously, because he really shows a magnitude of photos and I have no idea where he digs them up. But recently, he got invited by Joel Madden, Hilary Duff's boyfriend, to some concert. Duh! From then on he has been praising the duo and I DO NOT LIKE THAT! It seriously contravenes with the tabloid rule! So, if every celebrity invites you to events you are only going to say good things about them? Don't be sold out dude! Hilary looks like a horse recently and is NOT HOT!
Next up! May I present a chunk of Junk Feud?
Very funny isn't it? It is so ridiculous that the couple are gonna adopt a damn dino. And check out Maddox's (Angie's son, second right) face! He looks really happy to have a dinosaur! The barney made me laugh out loud.
(Eh, LA, if you are ever reading this, tell me if you want me to host my own pics or something, but I am kinda lazy now and I thought, well, you might like the extra traffic enough to forgive me.)
And The Superficial:
That is some serious funny. I love it when people have hallucinations and imaginary friends.
Junk feud and The Superficial are seriously contending for the spot of "Xiaxue's favourite blog besides her own".
*drumroll*

I choose Junk Feud! I love it because the photos are so bigass huge and they suck up more of the unlimited bandwidth I pay for anyway, and Singaporeans are kiasu. I love LA's (that's the writer) obsession with him, and her crazy, alternative view of things.
Alrighty! This wraps up your kickass links of the day! I still read Maddox and Go Fug Yourself, but Maddox updates so damn little nowadays and I keep seeing repeat photos on the other sites that are also on Fug, so it's kinda boring in that I-am-not-to-be-blamed way.
Eh! Don't go off thinking I am all shallow yes? I do read my erm, Instapundit and CNN.com and erm, DailyKos. Sometimes.
(I lied. I got those serious blog types from technorati's top 100 blogs, and I don't ever read them. Maybe if I did and I write like them, I can go further up from the 54th I am currently or something? Ha! Like real. Anyway, I am 54th in the damn world! God, I think I shall go hug myself or something. *throws confetti*)
p/s: This started off as a simple link to my favourite blogs but I ended up writing this for like 2 hours. I'm just saying this because I thought you unappreciative, ungrateful little buggers should know how much I love my own writing, which you happen to like too.
"So Xiaxue," they all go, with a mischievous glint in their eyes. "We all know you are a big blogger, but which is your favourite blog?"

Hey Xiaxue, how are you? Fine thank you, and you? Good good! Hey look, I just wanted to tell you, well, I love your blog! You do, really? Thanks! Why? Well... I like it coz it is funny, but not funny in a "Why did the chewing gum cross the road? Because it was stuck to the chicken's feet!" kind of way, but funny because you can be really goddamn crazy at times!
Huh? I do? How so? Like that entry about your ex having half-transparent sperm? I LOVED IT! But he did really have half-transparent sperm. Oh dear, ok, passing that quickly. I also like the way you post up nice photos, and I love it when you give good shopping deals! My pleasure, good to share good stuff of course. And and, I love the way you continue being bitchy and real, even when people shoot you down. That's the spirit girl! *blush* well thanks, that isn't easy you know, but I always tell myself these losers don't matter anyway, it is those who love me that matters.
Well anyway, you will always be my favourite blogger! If there is one last person in the world I will wanna shag, it will be you! Oh dear, what has THAT got to do with blogging? Nothing, just that the love for the blog has... well... kinda spread to become lust for your lovely body too. Er, okie, this is becoming kinda freaky because I am sex-talking to myself so let's stop here. Ok, bye then. Bye.
(Let's pretend that chunk has never happened.)

Taylor enthuses, "They did not ask us to close the museum or for an after-hours visit or any special treatment. They arrived around 7pm and stayed for an hour.
"The other people in the museum at the time were very respectful. The only unfortunate thing was that word leaked out and quite a crowd collected outside the main entrance, so we had to find an alternate exit for them. They are both very down-to-earth people and most appreciative."
It has been confirmed (by my imaginary source, as always) that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are actually planning on adopting a dinosaur!
That bitch really will stop at nothing to have the most diverse family EVER. She's got the Cambodian boy, the South African girl, and now an extinct species!
Apparently Maddox has been begging for a little dinosaur brother. That kid gets everything!
They’re considering a Heterodontosaurus, but they've also been talking about maybe getting Supersaurus.
They must choose whether they want the straight sounding one, or the super one, which sounds way gay.
Personally, I’d go for the Super dinosaur. It sounds fab!"
Hilary Duff hangs up on Lindsay LohanLindsay Lohan claims that she tried to end her feud with Hilary Duff but got hung up on when she called. She tells Australian magazine, "I called her last week, and I was like,'Do you wanna hang out?' And her sister hung up the phone on me! I don't like having enemies ... and there's the saying, keep your friends close but your enemies closer."
I don't know much about human nature, but it seems counterproductive to publicly quote Sun Tsu's On The Art of War when talking about reconciling a friendship. Ever since that samurai I befriended tried to kill me, I've always been suspicious of new friends who quote guides on warfare. Damn you, Renjiro, that's the last time I get stabbed in the kidneys.

Singapore surprised me again!
Previously, for Singapore Idol, when it was only Sly and Taufik left, I was like, cmon, obviously Sly will win.
The reason is because the Chinese market is so much more popular here in Singapore than the Malay market, or even the English! Our most popular station is 93.3, our most popular channel is Channel 8 (I think, or my news could be outdated), KBox has never marketed itself for any other language for its songs than Mandarin.
Famous Singaporean singers? Stephanie Sun (or is it with an F?), Lin Junjie, whatever. No English singers.
It is no doubt that Sly will make a more profitable singer, if he were to be able to have his records in both English and Chinese. And his beng style? Perfect for those Chinese 16 year old girlies to spend their pocket money on!
If the contest were to be rigged, surely it is smarter to rig it towards Sly.
I thought the organisers were letting Taufik get into top 2 to be politically correct, then obviously not let him win.
I was almost CERTAIN Sly will win, but he lost, and Taufik won! And guess what? A vast number of Chinese actually voted for Taufik!
And as for Project Superstar ... Wow! I thought Kelly will most certainly win, because, once again, she is more marketable, especially to overseas markets like Taiwan - with that sweet face that people like, and being able to dance and all.
But people still voted for Weilian to win!
Both times our Idols are the minority, and both times, they are (in my opinion anyway) more talented than their competitors.
We didn't care about race nor physical disabilities. We just voted who we thought was the deserving winner.
I am very proud of Singapore and the fairness our citizens exude. I may sound stupid coz I didn't really watch the whole contest in minute details, but just a thought, just a thought...
Eh, and I am again hearing voices in my head from people who are scolding me (xiaxue you are so naive of course blah blah blah) , so hey, you don't have to agree, and if I am wrong, please correct me gently. Just blogging out my thoughts!
Ta! I've got to go rest soon, for I have my talk at the National Library tomorrow, don't I? I have this feeling Brown and Miyagi will tease me on stage! Don't sabo ah!
Love ya all. =)
